Job Summary:




This position will assist in the successful Facilities & Maintenance Operations of Arrowhead Products. It is a combination of the following jobs: Janitor, General Laborer, and Maintenance Helper.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Must be capable of performing all janitorial duties such as sweeping, dusting, trash removal, floor mopping, etc.
  • Responsible for hazardous waste handling; including storage, proper container labeling, and inventory.
  • Under the direction of Supervision and/or senior Maintenance Staff, will assist in performing preventive maintenance per assigned work order.
  • Will assist plant management during emergency situations that include but are not limited to spills, evacuation, and clean-up operations.
  • Must obtain a forklift certification within first 60-days.
  • Must be capable of operating power equipment such as floor scrubbers and electric cart.
  • General Laborer and Maintenance Helper are required to participate in DOT, HAZMAT, HAZWOPER training program.
  • Maintenance Helpers and Laborers are required to go through the facility, remove any trash and/ or debris, pick up and remove all hazardous waste and material from the facility after completing the DOT, HAZMAT, HAZWOPER training program.
  • Will remove all scrap metals and empty them into containment bins throughout facility.
  • Will assist skilled craftsmen perform minor repairs of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
  • Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety Standards.
  • This job description is not all inclusive of all duties. Other job duties consistent with the Maintenance Associate Job Family within the new Job Family Structure may be assigned.





Education and Experience:





  • High School Diploma or its equivalent; previous Facilities/Maintenance experience may be substituted for education requirement.
  • Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
  • *Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed in higher level.




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic and hand tools.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Will utilize ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, and electric carts.
  • Must have working knowledge of air compressors (100 h.p.), lubricants (oil & grease) and their intended use.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, manuals, and work orders.
  • Ability to use standard maintenance measuring instruments and appropriate hand tools.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
