THE ROLE:
We are looking for a candidate to build and manage the silicon photonics technology team and work with the SerDes and photonics/IC design/system leads, partner and vendor engineering teams on product and supply chain development involving co-package optics (CPO). Expertise in silicon and packaging process development, DTCO, PIC Optical Testing, SI, Technology and product bring-up, fiber integration HVM supply chain development and qualification working with partners and internal teams. Must have strong relationships and willing to engage face to face actively with key optical supply chain partners.

This person has excellent verbal and written communication skills. Is a great manager, team player and a problem solver. Has a proven track record of working across organization boundaries and driving complex programs to successful completion through collaboration. Is thoughtful, efficient, disciplined and has a tenacious commitment to continuous improvement and relentless drive to win. Candidate must have strong capability in developing cutting edge technologies, where significant challenges are to be expected and solved quickly and efficiently, in an ambiguous and multi-partner environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and manage Photonics technology team to enable CPO.

Process: 20+ years' experience in Optoelectronic hardware and silicon-package development bringing products to market. Experienced in Design and Product Enablement, Testing, CPO and working with customers. Strong Knowledge in Photonics Device, PIC Silicon and Packaging Process, Fiber Integration Technology and Supply Chain, Design for Reliability. Knowledge in Advanced Packaging is desirable.
Direct experience in CPO is a must.

Vendor and Project Management: Work with 3rd party partners, foundry and OSAT to bring CPO from concept to HVM.

TCAD/CAD: Experience using photonics simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, Cadence, Synopsys, Ansys, Monte Carlo) and familiarity with mechanical and thermal design a plus.

Industrial experience: 15+ years' experience in Photonics product and process development and deployment.

Manufacturing: Excellent knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), including experience with volume manufacturing in Asia as well as North America.

Lab Skills: Knowledgeable with Design of Experiments, instrumentation, optical characterization, data acquisition and analysis, including uncertainty analysis. Understanding on test, mechanical, and fiber process characterization tools such as Keysight, Form Factor platforms, Optical inspection, FIB, SEM, X-ray.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field AND 15+ years of (post college) work experience in an optoelectronics technology and product bring-up role. Will consider 20+ years experience with Masters degree.
