Job Overview-Island of Kauai

The Project Manager in the Electrical Division is a critical leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of administration, labor, material, and company assets on assigned projects within the AE Construction Mission. This position is based on the Island of Oahu and requires a dynamic individual capable of ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager will be the key point of contact between the company, clients, and on-site teams, ensuring that all project goals are met while maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communication with Leadman/Foreman/General Foreman
  • Overall project performance
  • Client relationship
  • Contract review and development of Budget
  • Project objectives, policies, procedures
  • Manage change orders
  • Maintain project logs and schedules
  • Monitor construction activities with Foreman to ensure project is on schedule, in compliance with the contract documents, and within budget
  • Represent American Electric
  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Manager procurement and subcontractors
  • Enforce AE company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Read and interprets instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, and written instructions
  • Able to identify issues and help come up with solutions with Foreman/General Foreman.
  • Train and develop project support staff providing growth opportunities
  • Ensure timely payment

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supervision of assigned employees and subcontractors.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in management role overseeing large-scale electrical projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred.

Objective Measures of Performance:

  • Financial - Project Budget
  • Safety - Qty of Lost Time Incidents, AE Safety Audit Score
  • Client Relations - Provide Value to our Clients
  • Key Targeted Results (KTR):
  • Financial - Projects meet or beat Budget.
  • Safety - No lost time incidents, AE Safety Audit Score of XX or above.
  • Client Relations - Promoter NPS, Client Recommendation Letter.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook software.
  • Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
