Inside Sales Representative

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for general office support for the external sales and logistics team and providing excellent customer service, to maximize the sales of Graniterock Products and are in alignment with Graniterock's Strategic Priorities and business objectives.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Comply, understand, and promote safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else."
  2. Coordinates with customer service/sales, dispatch, logistics and accounting, teams to ensure the process is executed accurately, reliably and timely; verify order, prices, tonnage, hourly truck tags and all other details on all tickets.
  3. Review and reconcile daily XBE transactions to daily sales, including hourly, COD and outside materials purchases, verify all information for accurate billing.
  4. Assist in tracking and reporting on backlog and sales data for Aggregate, Concrete, Hot Mix Asphalt, and Transportation.
  5. Collect certified payroll requirement to process accurate prevailing wage reports and recordkeeping.
  6. Coordinate with business partners to ensure product availability to meet customer needs and orders. Address sub-hauler and customer inquiries.
  7. Obtain and enter customer credit card information into billing system to ensure pre-authorizations on cash customers. Identify and track projects with hourly trucking minimums for accurate billing.
  8. Process daily billing of shipments by rail. Work with Union Pacific and Graniterock branches on billing discrepancies and reconciliations.
  9. Provide backup assistance to branch weighmasters at various branches when necessary.

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years customer service experience preferred.
  • Accounting experience that may include A/P, A/R and certified Payroll is preferred.
  • 1+ year general office experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Professional phone manner, strong listening/memory skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
  • Ability to work independently while under pressure.
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Strong math skills required.
  • Ability to solve problems and provide solutions.
  • Able to organize billing and inventory.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, desired
