The Field Operations organization has a keen focus on plant performance, outage and service-call reduction, productivity and quality assurance. They are responsible for maintaining our cable plant, including node and coax maintenance, plant construction and delivering quality service to the homes and businesses of our customers.

The Regional Vice President of Field Operations serve as the point person for local leaders in their region to move the business forward and communicating and achieving the goals to contribute to the success of the company.

The Regional VP - Field Operation will be responsible for providing oversight and direction to ensure successful operations of multiple management areas within a designated Region, with functional focus for Field Operations (service, install, plant maintenance and construction). Participates in providing feedback to Corporate Field Operations leadership in regards to strategic planning and development of initiatives to achieve business objectives for assigned area and overall goals and objectives of the company.

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Oversee the daily execution of all Field Operations related activity in regards to installation, service, plant maintenance and construction to ensure we are achieving operational excellence and providing superior customer service/experience. This includes the Regional oversight of the RSC, routing and support center for field technicians, as well as the ROC, regional operating center responsible for routing and monitoring of our network and the technicians who maintain it.
  • Direct and manage a leadership team that is comprised of Management Area leaders, as well as Regional leaders for the assigned functional areas of Field Operations, including business planning, human resources, training, safety, project management, and recruiting as it pertains to the running of the day to day operations for the Region.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to ensure there is good communication on varying initiatives, changes to process and procedures, and other matters that can impact our customers and employees so that teams can plan accordingly and operate efficiently and effectively from a customer delivery/experience perspective.
  • Engage with Management areas as well as Regional teams through travel, meetings, and other forms of communication to ensure that employee morale and motivation is strong and that issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner to ensure they don't interfere with operations and our customer driven focus.
  • Review of operating metrics and other data to assist in developing plans along with leadership team to ensure daily operating excellence, and to come up with plans as needed, to improve and strengthen our performance.
  • Communication of important operational issues that are impacting customer service/experience to Corporate functional leadership for matters that are outside the control of the Region, so they can be addressed in a timely manner.
  • Direct and plan along with the key leaders on the team the budgets and forecasts for the Region, including operating and capital plans, with the direction that is provided by Corporate leadership. Ensures the successful execution of these plans through operation reviews and consistent monitoring of activity to ensure we successfully deliver on our plans.
  • Review and analyze financial results and operating data, evaluate variances from budgets/forecasts with leaders and establish appropriate action plans where needed.
  • Analyze historical operating data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to execute on the overall business plan.
  • Partner with Government Affairs as needed to promote favorable relationships with community and public officials.
  • Support and participates in strategic planning in order to meet the organizations strategic goals and long term growth.
  • Participate in the talent and succession planning for the region to ensure we are developing our future leaders.
  • Ensure strategic and portfolio management of multiple Management Area leadership teams that align with overall company objectives.
  • Able to solve complex business issues either at the Region and/or within the Management Areas.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
  • Experience:
    • 15 Years Cable industry experience
    • 12 Years Senior level Management experience in multiple locations, preferably in a cable MSO
    • 10 Years Management of Annual Budget Preparation and Implementation
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree or related field experience equivalent; Field Experience is inclusive of fulfilment/capacity management, construction/engineering, and plant maintenance
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

    • Ability to communicate in a public forum and perform business negotiations

    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner

    • Ability to organize, plan and implement budgets and business plans

    • Ability to think beyond own function; considers strategic issues that support overall business

    • Demonstrates broad, long-term perspective

    • Ability to work with customers, public officials and agencies

    • Ability to direct large unit or several complex functions

    • Ability to contribute to the organization through strategy definition and implementation

    • Knowledge and experience for the products and services we provide (video, internet, phone).

    • Ability to delegate responsibilities for functional tasks Knowledge of federal, state and local franchise and cable regulations

    • Knowledge of government process at the federal, state and local levels

    • Strong analytical, process and organizational skills

    • Strong communication and people development skills

The base pay for this position generally is between $251,300.00 and $506,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
