Your Role With Us:As a Referral Specialist, this individual plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of both incoming and outgoing patient referrals. They professionally screen patients over the phone, gather and input accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information into Epic, and manage referrals by triaging them to the appropriate staff or service areas. They are responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining necessary authorizations, providing cost estimates, and clearly communicating coverage details and out-of-pocket expenses to patients. In addition, they accurately schedule appointments, maintain and build scheduling templates, and coordinate follow-up care as needed. This specialist supports clinic operations by promptly responding to inquiries, resolving issues related to authorizations and scheduling, and providing administrative support to leadership and clinical teams.
