Cuningham is seeking a talented and passionate Architectural Designer I to join our creative, collaborative team. What you will do:
  • Assist in developing design solutions, coordination, and production efforts on a wide range of projects, through all phases of the design, in an iterative and collaborative design process through simple sketching, 2D and 3D modeling, as well as computational methods, in alignment with project success metrics.
  • Explore and support regenerative approaches to design and performance of the built, social, and natural environments.
  • Assist with and prepare design presentations.
  • Support the development and documentation of projects through both creative design and technical detailing.
  • Assist in the coordination of BIM models and documentation internally and with consultants, contractors, etc.
  • Participate in construction administration activities with Project Architect and on-site staff, including on-site observations and verifications.
  • Adopt and proficiently use: MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit/BIM 360; build awareness and engage with: Rhino, Enscape, Lumion.
  • Research exterior materials and products.
  • Research and become familiar with wall assemblies, waterproofing, and vertical circulation.
  • Assist and support exterior massing studies.
  • Assist and support interior space planning and programming.
What we look for:
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in a design-focused role.
  • A degree in architecture or a related design discipline.
  • A strong interest in working across a variety of project types and markets.
  • Familiarity with design and documentation tools such as Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization software.
  • Clear and thoughtful communication skills (visual, written, and verbal).
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to contribute in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a growth mindset with a passion for design that makes a difference.
  • Daily discipline and time management skills that facilitateaccomplishing tasks on timeand a commitment to personal accountability.
  • Ability to create visually engaging presentations and graphics
Compensation provided is based on our national range which varies by work location and may also depend on accreditation, experience and responsibilities. Our talent management team can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
