Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and versatile Product Development Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in engineering. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion, with a focus on design and problem-solving. Experience in the window and door industry, especially in extrusion design and thermal analysis, is a plus. This hands-on role requires a strong collaborative spirit to work across teams and drive operational success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management: Lead design, development, and implementation of engineering projects, managing the full lifecycle from concept through production
  • Design Development: Create, refine, and optimize designs for components, ensuring practicality, efficiency, and manufacturability
  • Thermal & Performance Analysis: Analyze product performance, including thermal properties, to meet energy efficiency and functional requirements
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with manufacturing teams to address operational challenges, gather feedback, and implement innovative solutions
  • Manufacturing Collaboration: Ensure seamless project execution by collaborating directly with the Manufacturing department, troubleshooting issues, and improving efficiency
  • Problem Solving: Use engineering expertise to resolve production issues, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency
  • Design Documentation: Produce detailed CAD drawings, models, and specifications for both new and existing products using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or 3D printing
  • Testing & Data Analysis: Develop and maintain engineering documentation for testing and validation, ensuring compliance with required standards
  • Cross-Disciplinary Communication: Work with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: 5-10 years of design or process engineering experience, with exposure to manufacturing environments. Experience in the window and door industry, especially extrusion and thermal analysis, is a plus
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, machining, injection molding, or fabrication
  • Thermal Analysis: Knowledge of window thermal properties and energy-efficient design preferred
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve production challenges to improve performance and efficiency
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams and manufacturing staff
  • Manufacturing Environment: Experience working in manufacturing environments to ensure understanding of operational processes and team collaboration
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with thermal simulation tools/software
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in product testing, validation, and quality control
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and process improvement
  • Proven track record in a manufacturing environment
