*REMOTE but must live near Indiana to drive onsite when needed* *1 year contract* *Top Skills' Details* 1) Release Train Engineer (including SAFe Certification - SPC and RTE) 2) Technical background (i.e. Java, .NET, SQL/TSQL) 3) Group/Voluntary Insurance Experience 4) Jira and Confluence 5) Experience supporting EIS core software suite highly preferred (other insurtech platforms supporting policy, claims, billing, and customer experience as a secondary) Seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer who comes from a technical background to join team supporting a strategic Program. Successful candidate will have overall responsibility for leading the Agile Release Train while supporting the Product Owners, Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Business Analysts supporting this program initiative. Will be working within a lean-Agile framework where teams run 3 week sprints. Candidate is able to work remotely from home on EST hours; however, must also be willing to travel for onsite meetings as needed. Onsite meetings will be held in Indiana. Travel is likely for all PI planning events but will occur outside of this on occasion as well. --- The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will have overall responsibility for Agile Release Train (ART), supporting the Product Owners (PO), Engineers, Scrum Masters (SM) and Business Analysts (BA) within a Lean-Agile framework. The RTE has overall responsibility for managing the CI/CD pipeline, and the non-production environments. The RTE will facilitate the promotion of code through the development stack into Production. The RTE will oversee the collective prioritization of development and production support work with the Business. The RTE will manage the development work and communicate results using Jira and Confluence. Minimum Qualifications and Abilities: * Bachelor's degree in IT or related field * Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in an Information Technology role. * Knowledge of EIS core software is a plus. * Knowledge of the Java technology stack is a plus. * Knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack (.Net, Visual Studio, etc.) is a plus. * Knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL programming language a plus. * Knowledge of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) is a plus. * Knowledge of using Mercurial, Git, or similar Source Control methods for development & deployment is a plus. * Knowledge of Jenkins is a plus. * Experience working for a voluntary benefits organization or health plan is a plus. * JIRA (Help Desk ticketing) software experience a plus. * Competent use of Microsoft Office applications to include Microsoft - Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word required. * SAFe Certification of SPC or RTE is a significant plus. * Capability to multitask and work on a variety of projects and teams is essential. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Ability to organize and execute all Program Rituals including PI Planning, ART Sync, Program Visibility, Inspect & Adapt, System Demo, & Metrics. * Manage ART using the Agile methodology. * Analyze situations with critical thinking and propose solutions. * Develop and train staff to use an Agile approach and leverage a CI/CD pipeline. * Oversee the resolution of issues impeding the development process. * Coordinate with infrastructure teams the provisioning and monitoring of environments. * Responsible for the daily monitoring and tracking of key production processes, and interfaces with various trading partners. * Responsible for all production environments, including (but not limited to) remediation of any errors that occur in a timely fashion and performing requested deployments for multiple teams within the IT department. * Develop solutions that maintain a high level of cybersecurity. * Maintain effective relationships with business partners and stakeholders. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $120.00/hr.
