The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is offering an opportunity for two qualified individuals to serve on 120-day temporary appointments as OIG Interns.
These positions are located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), which is an independent office in the Library of Congress responsible for audits and investigations of the Library's programs and operations. The incumbents serve as OIG interns and provide clerical, administrative, and analytic support for the OIG's work.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review and remediate electronic documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Develop internal and external communications to promote OIGs work.
- Conduct research and analysis on matters of interest to the office including benchmarking, comparative analysis of data, and summarizing data.
- Provide technical support for supervisors and staff administering a range of programs, projects, operations, and initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison with OIG supervisors to acquire, clarify, or exchange facts or information needed to complete assignments.
- Perform general clerical and administrative support duties as assigned, including receiving visitors and screening telephone inquiries, determining nature of call or business questions, and routing questions based on knowledge of OIG programs, projects, or initiatives.
- Perform comparative analytical studies in support of IG's mission, including analysis of statistical data and ongoing automation operations in support of program goals and identifies areas where operational efficiency can be enhanced.

Work Schedule: The work schedule is part-time, 20 hours per week. Incumbents may work onsite or on a hybrid schedule.
