- In partnership with the President of Residential Mortgage, recruits, hires and trains qualified loan Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) and Mortgage Loan Originator Assistants (MLOAs) and directs training programs relative to sales techniques, product and technical requirements.
- Responsible for growth strategy, volume forecasting and overall Mortgage Sales and Service (net mortgage gain) budget and forecast
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Compliance and other departments to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to reduce errors, increase speed and efficiency and service levels
- Organize and direct Sales (Production) Meetings (create reports and agenda)
- Supervises Mortgage Loan Assistants (MLOAs) not directly assigned to specific MLOs, as well as indirect/matrix supervision for all MLOAs
- Primary business owner for CRM Total Expert, including vendor management, system strategy and vision, training and broader bank cross sell opportunity management and on-boarding process
- Coordinates implementation of MLO and MLOA process / procedure / system changes and training, if appropriate, as a result of:
- QC Findings
- System updates and improvements
- Compliance and Regulatory Changes
- Process improvements
- Provide constructive feedback to President of Residential Mortgage and the Director of Operations and Technology regarding Mortgage Production and Operations practices/experiences to mitigate issues that impact the borrower or referral partner experience as well as operational efficiencies.
- Review, analyze and decision escalated day to day loan level production problems and questions
- Coordinate monthly Mortgage Services Executive Management review meetings that incorporate financial results, loan production volumes (actual, budget and forecast) Production, Operations and Secondary Marketing performance metrics and updates, projects/initiatives, loan products, and production strategies.
- Plan/allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet productivity and quality goals
- Track and communicate progress on project tasks; ensure deadlines are met appropriately.
- Maintain communication with internal and external contacts (including senior leadership levels) as necessary to ensure expectations and timelines are met.
What You Bring:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of MS applications, database/CRM tools, loan origination application systems and loan pricing engines
- Solid understanding of mortgage regulatory requirements, including but not limited to the SAFE Act, Dodd-Frank, HMDA, TILA, RESPA, ECOA, Fair Lending, and the Fair Housing Act
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining a quality referral network
- Ability to analyze and calculate income from complex financial data
- Solid understanding of mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and closing
- Professional presentation, written and verbal communications skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and with an operations team
- Focus on providing outstanding customer service and meeting critical deadlines
