We are looking to fill a Scientist III - Cell Line Development position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This role does not offer sponsorship.

The successful candidate will assist in various cell line development projects, contributing to the advancement of our scientific initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with relevant laboratory experience to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications - B.S./M.S. in Biology or similar life sciences and relevant years of experience as listed below

  • Scientist 3 - B.S. with 3-5 years of experience; M.S. with 1-2 years

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience in maintaining and culturing mammalian cell lines

  • Proficient in molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation, and transfection

  • Ability to operate standard molecular biology laboratory equipment

  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting experimental data and proficiency in using software for data analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conducts laboratory experiments involving molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and transfection

  • Assist in the design and execution of experiments, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety guidelines

  • Collaborates with senior scientists and team members to troubleshoot experiments and optimize protocols

  • Supports laboratory maintenance, e.g. monitors the controlled temperature units, incubators

  • Completes sample submission & sample management

  • Maintains accurate documentation and records
