Job Description
Primary Purpose Perform and coordinate natural gas scheduling activities to optimize Sempra Midstream's portfolio of pipeline and storage assets. Confirm, nominate, and schedule shipper supply obligations in accordance with contract provisions and tariff parameters, focusing on mandated NAESB protocols. Tie out scheduled gas volumes with interconnects, coordinate each cycle with gas control and field operations, communicate with accounting department for invoicing, and regulatory for various postings, contracts, and filings throughout the month. Form and maintain strong relationships with shippers and interconnect partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other related activities on all of Sempra Midstream's pipelines, as well as the corresponding natural gas pipeline interconnects, LNG terminals and storage facilities.
- Utilizing a thorough understanding of transportation contracts, nominate appropriately based upon contract entitlements, receipt and delivery points, and capacity avoiding any overrun or other unforeseen incremental transportation charges. Regularly apply problem solving skills to more efficiently and effectively move supply on pipelines.
- Track and interpret pipeline curtailments and operational issues using pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs) or communicating with pipeline transportation representatives. Relay issues or concerns and advise the Trading team on potential impacts and alternative solutions. Develop and maintain knowledge of pipeline tariffs and rate cases as required for our client base, asset management and accounting
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with the Gas Control team and customers regarding physical positions. Provide consultation on supply interruptions on interconnect pipes. Be a key team member in helping develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, pipelines, storage operators and suppliers.
- Be available for after hours and weekend scheduling requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or similar discipline or equivalent experience. Required
Experience
- 3 years years of relevant experience. Required
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of US North American natural gas pipeline scheduling and operations and constraints. Intermediate
- Established professional network of Interstate and Intrastate pipeline representatives. Intermediate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel. Intermediate
- Excellent communicator and team player. Intermediate
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and constantly changing environment. Intermediate
- Proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and meet strict and competing deadlines. Intermediate
- Excellent planning, organization, problem solving and analytical skills. Intermediate
Licenses and Certifications
Other Qualifications
- Experience with Trellis, 1Line, Quorum, GasQuest - preferred
- Spanish is a plus.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday and rotating on-call after hours and weekend coverage.
Work Schedule
OFFICE: Work onsite at a company facility due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
