Description

Hourly Rate: $20 per hour

Position Summary:

Youth Developer is responsible for providing direct supervision, instruction, homework help, social and emotional support and recreational activities to program participants attending the after-school program.

Essential Duties:



  • Provide individual and group tutoring in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills to students in an elementary school after-school based program.
  • Provide strong classroom and behavioral management skills.
  • Implement a professionally developed literacy-based curriculum
  • Work to develop relationships with children and their families.
  • Design, plan, and lead implementation of special projects
  • Be punctual, responsible, positive in attitude, and provide encouragement to all children.
  • Teach, supervise, and organize games
  • Assisting in any activities needed for the orderly operation of the program: supervising children during supper, ensuring equipment is properly signed out and that all equipment is properly cleaned and returned.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and trainings and work cooperatively with other staff members in the program.
  • Supervise the Assistant Youth Developer
  • Attend and supervise children during special projects and field trips (including some weekends and evenings).


Qualifications:



  • Experience working with children and families
  • At least a year of experience in childcare
