About the Position:

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a highly experiencedSenior Transportation Plannerto join our dynamic team inBonifay, Florida. This role will support planning and engineering initiatives for theFlorida Department of Transportation (FDOT)and other regional transportation agencies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in transportation planning, with a proven track record of delivering innovative, data-driven solutions to complex mobility challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage transportation planning tasks in collaboration with FDOT and local agencies.
  • Prepare technical reports, planning documents, and presentations for stakeholders and public meetings.
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, GIS specialists, and environmental scientists to integrate planning reports and documents.
  • Ensure compliance with FDOT standards, federal and state regulations, and local planning policies.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation planning, or related field, or equivalent experience in the field of transportation planning.
  • Minimum of10 yearsof professional experience in transportation planning.
  • Experience working with Local Counties and Cities.
  • Knowledge of Local Agency Programs (LAP), Federal Grant Programs such as Transportation Alternatives (TA), and State Grant Programs (SCOP, SCRAP, CIGP, MSCOP, BSCOP, TRIP.
  • Knowledge of FDOT Work Program coding and development.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDOT planning processes, manuals, and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The salary range for this position is: $70,000 - $92,000
