Responsibilities:

Del Monte is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to lead our financial operations and support business transformation initiatives within our company. This position requires a seasoned accounting professional with deep expertise in SAP and a proven track record leading, implementing and transforming accounting and finance teams leveraging third party offshore resources. The ideal candidate will drive financial integrity, efficiencies, process and control improvements, and cost reduction.

The Corporate Controller will be a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the onshore and offshore accounting personnel and functions, financial reporting, tax strategy, payroll and controls to mitigate risks. This role provides leadership, guidance, training and development to the broader accounting and finance teams to ensure that Del Monte Food's financial reporting practices comply with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulations (e.g., Singapore Stock Exchange, cybersecurity, environmental, social and governance, etc.).

The Corporate Controller is responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting process, including maintaining the general ledger, transaction processing, preparing the financial statements, preparing journal entries, verifying balance sheet accounts are reconciled and adequately supported, management discussion and analysis, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of disclosures and financial reporting.

Financial Leadership & Reporting

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's financial accounting, reporting and compliance functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end closing in accordance with IFRS.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure alignment between actuals and forecasts.
  • Provide financial insights and business performance analysis to support senior leadership decision making.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain and commercial teams to drive margin improvement and working capital optimization.

SAP System Ownership

  • Serve as the finance lead for all SAP-related initiatives (e.g., upgrade from ECC to S/4 Hana) including implementation, optimization, and integrations.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in master data, GL configuration, and transactional flows in SAP.
  • Partner with IT and business teams to streamline SAP financial processes (e.g., PTP, OTC, RTR).
  • Oversee integrations with external partners to ensure optimal financial operations.

Outsource Accounting & Finance Transformation

  • Lead the accounting transformation strategy to ensure onshore and offshore resources are optimized to achieve accurate financial reporting, optimized systems and reduced costs.
  • Oversee service transition, change management and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Collaborate with BPO partner to establish governance, service level agreements and key performance indicators.

Compliance and Controls

  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, external regulatory standards and risk and control requirements. This includes establishing and updating accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure alignment with IFRS and monitoring adherence to them.
  • Leads coordination with internal and external auditors and tax advisors and drives improvements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate (requirement for anyone filing corporate financial documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission) required.
  • MBA in finance, IT, or related discipline is a plus.
  • Other certifications such as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Management Accountants, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors, and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA (formerly the Information Systems Audit and Control Association) are a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years of related accounting experience required, preferably in public accounting assurance and Consumer Products / Food Manufacturing in senior accounting positions (CAO, Controller, Director Financial Reporting) at a publicly traded company are preferred.
  • Deep functional knowledge and experience in SAP ECC. S/4HANA implementation experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience leading accounting and finance transformation and outsourced financial operations (e.g., shared services, BPO).
  • Excellent leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, global business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and internal controls.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex projects.
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style.
  • Track record of building high-performing teams and talent development.
