This is a 6-month temporary assignment. Schedule is full-time Monday - Friday.

Must have loan processing experience!
ABOUT YOUR ROLE

Review and analyze mortgage applications and verify financial documents such as income statements, tax returns,
and credit reports to ensure compliance with lending standards and regulations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Review and analyze mortgage applications to ensure completeness and accuracy.
2. Verify applicant credit reports and financial statements.
3. Assess applicant debt-to-income ratios and overall financial stability.
4. Conduct thorough research on applicant backgrounds and financial histories. Identify and flag any inconsistencies or potential risks in applications.
5. Communicate with loan officers and applicants to gather necessary information.
6. Assist in preparing and organizing underwriting documentation.
7. Collaborate with underwriters to address any outstanding issues.
8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all pre-underwriting activities.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
10. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
11. Accountable for meeting established Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
12. Understands compliance with all regulations governing the banking industry, as well as agency guidelines and organization policies.
13. Understands the compliance requirements for Loan Operations to ensure files are maintained in accordance with regulations.
Requirements
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU


  • Strong knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA and Consumer Loan underwriting requirements and polices.
  • Proven experience in mortgage processing or underwriting.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to use prudent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be diplomatic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and banking software applications.
  • Ability to organize time, resources and set priorities to accomplish multiple duties.


YOUR QUALIFICATIONS


  • High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum of five years experience in financial services industry, additional coursework in banking and mortgage underwriting.


INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS


  • Internal contacts involve departmental coordination.
  • External contact with customers, attorneys and real estate professionals.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment. Ability to operate computer. Ability to communicate in order to exchange simple to complex information with individuals and groups. Ability to travel throughout Bank footprint.
