Operations Mechanical Laborer Position

45% Daily Operations/Custodial

1. Cleaning, dusting, or polishing: equipment, facility floors, walls, windows,

2. Operating Heavy Equipment: hand truck, floor scrubbers, forklifts, and other cleaning equipment according to safety and training

-Loads, unloads, moves, or stores equipment according to setup or changeover
requirements per event

-Properly preparing storage/mechanical areas for next task

3. Remove shipped materials from delivery vehicles and move to designated storage areas

30% Assist General Mechanics with tasks/task lists

1. Perform tasks according to verbal or written instructions, or by
following drawings or diagrams.
-Hanging pictures, moving office furniture, changing HVAC filters, painting mechanical areas, etc.

2. Assist full-time staff with general maintenance of the facility

20% Customer Service

1. Assist Building Managers with tasks as needed

2. Respond to concerns and needs of Building Managers in a timely and

3. Provide excellent customer service to clients by demonstrating a "Can Do" attitude to meet the needs of the clients

5% Building Security

1. Perform building inspections

2. Able to properly identify and escort inappropriate personnel from the building

3. Report any damaged stadium property

4. Take precautions to secure storage/mechanical area content against loss and other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

Required:
1. Must be a self-starter
2. Able to multiple task
3. Able to work mornings, nights, and weekends
4. Able to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred:
1. Prior experience working with tools and mechanical equipment
2. Willingness to learn all areas of athletic facilities maintenance
3. Excellent leadership and communication skills
4. History of accountability/responsibility in previous positions

About the Department

When completed, Huntington Bank Stadium became the first new football stadium in the Big Ten since 1960 and the first in NCAA FBS since 2006 (additional NCAA FBS stadiums have since been built). Athletic Facilities is a unit of Intercollegiate Athletics whose mission is to provide safe and competitive facilities to the University community and to its stakeholders. As a member of the facility operations staff, you will be responsible for the daily operations, as well as event conversion and event services for Huntington Bank Stadium.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
