DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Farm Show Complex Equipment Operator B plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of the entire facility. Their responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, all of which contribute to the safe and effective management of the complex. From setting up, maintaining, and dismantling equipment for various events, to overseeing the grounds and buildings, this position demands a versatile skill set and a keen attention to detail. The Equipment Operator B is responsible for ensuring the safe and proper use of all equipment, while also maintaining the complex's grounds and facilities through tasks such as trash removal, custodial work, general maintenance, and snow removal. Operating in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, the Equipment Operator B is essential in guaranteeing that events are ready and well-maintained throughout their duration, showcasing the complex's commitment to providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly.
  • Positions will not be filled prior to July 12, 2025
  • Free onsite parking
  • Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Shift differential is $1.25 an hour), Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position may require overtime as needed.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $42,437.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) that is not under suspension.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
