We're seeking a Financial Services Data Security Consultant in Atlanta or Charlotte in Financial Services to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.
SUMMARY:
You will play a crucial role in enhancing data security measures for our financial services clients, contributing your expertise to mission-critical initiatives.
YOU WILL:
Information/Data Security:
- Develop and implement robust data security strategies tailored to the financial services industry
- Conduct comprehensive data security audits and assessments
- Recommend and implement security controls to protect sensitive financial data
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the integration of security measures across all systems
Vulnerability Assessment:
- Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing on financial systems and networks
- Analyze and prioritize identified vulnerabilities
- Develop and oversee the implementation of remediation plans
- Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities in the financial sector
Risk Reviews:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of financial systems, processes, and data flows
- Identify potential security risks and their potential impact on the organization
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and present findings to stakeholders
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of risk registers
ISO/NIST Standards Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to relevant ISO and NIST standards, particularly those applicable to the financial industry
- Guide the implementation of security controls in line with these standards
- Assist in preparing for and maintaining certifications related to these standards
- Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and update security practices accordingly
Project Collaboration:
- Work closely with North Highland teams on various data security projects
- Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices in financial data security
- Contribute to the development of security policies and procedures
- Assist in training staff on security awareness and best practices
IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE SOMEONE WHO:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data security, with a focus on the financial services and banking industry
In-depth knowledge of information security principles, practices, and technologies
Strong understanding of financial industry regulations and compliance requirements
Expertise in vulnerability assessment and risk management methodologies
Familiarity with ISO 27001 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks
Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, project-based environment
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
