Job Description:

The Regulatory Analyst maintains existing commercial insurance filings with state Departments of Insurance and assists Regulatory Consultants with the implementation of large or new filings. This position will provide an opportunity for the Regulatory Analyst to progress to managing complex filings by developing proficiencies in state insurance department requirements, general regulatory compliance principles, best practices, and filing and record retention systems.

Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and submit rate, rule, and form filings.
  • Document and maintain filing records within company systems and the SERFF database.
  • Respond to questions and objections from state insurance departments.
  • Secure regulatory approval of filings.
  • Communicate filing updates and changes to relevant internal teams.
  • Review and evaluate industry circulars (ISO, Bureau, NCCI) and apply changes.
  • Develop knowledge of insurance coverages, rating plans, and general underwriting principles.
  • Support project documentation and ensure organized record-keeping.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • Experience in commercial insurance, including either regulatory compliance, underwriting, underwriting support or product management.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet research tools.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in adapting to new technologies.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing demands and processes.


Preferred:



  • Basic understanding of state insurance regulations or SERFF (System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing).
