We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities for our PCBA manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing electronic components, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement to support production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics manufacturing and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in a fast-paced, contract manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions


  1. Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure availability of components and materials at optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
  2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for electronic components, PCBs, mechanical parts, and consumables. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts.
  3. Inventory Control: Collaborate with inventory and production teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  4. Cost Management: Monitor market trends and component pricing to drive cost savings and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.
  5. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, customer requirements, and industry standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals).
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, planning, and production teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and ongoing production needs.
  7. ERP System Management: Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system, including lead times, pricing, and supplier information.
  8. Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve supply chain risks, including long lead times, obsolescence, and allocation issues.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position oversees various positions, including Supply Chain Analyst, Buyer and Sr. Buyer and is responsible for the performance management of these employees.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, use fine hand motor skills/dexterity, use repetitive motions, and lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in electronics or PCBA manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, BOMs, and sourcing strategies.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards


Preferred Education and Experience


  • Previous management experience.
  • 7+ years of purchasing experience in electronics or PCBA manufacturing.
  • Experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPM, CPSM, APICS).
  • Understanding of global sourcing and logistics.
