Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a High Performance Computing Professional to work on our High Performance Computing team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

The High Performance Computing Team (C520) supports the Nuclear Science User Facilities (NSUF) in providing machine learning support, data curation capabilities, access to high performance computing systems, and long-term storage capabilities for rapid turnaround experiments and post irradiation examination analysis. C520 supports over 1,800 users and provides access to over 600k computer cores. The team fulfills software support requests for NSUF systems while also maintaining system operations over a 24/7 cycle. The group also supports selected research projects requiring significant high performance computing resources.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Develop automation scripts for processes.
  • Troubleshoot and tune HPC systems and software for performance.
  • Conduct system performance analysis and tuning.
  • Interact with users to resolve HPC-related issues and provide training.
  • Document system administration procedures.
  • AI for post irradiation examination
  • Computer Vision

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • PhD in Computer Science, or related technical field and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Post Irradiation Examination



Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position is $93,204.00 - $191,076.00. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.


Physical Requirements:



  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, handling materials, using tools, keyboarding, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
