The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor . This is a supervisory position in a warehouse environment, supervising the daily activities of a Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT MVA) Central Warehouse.

The Warehouse Supervisor position is to supervise warehouse personnel in all daily activities conducted within the MVA warehouse. This would include all aspects of material handling, such as receiving materials, storing, and distribution of all necessary forms, vehicle plates, stickers, titles along with other specialty items used by MVA branches, automobile dealerships, law enforcement agencies, county treasurers, Tag and title companies, Additional duties would include driving a 26-foot box warehouse truck as needed to complete the pickups and deliveries.

Responsibilities included:

  • Supervising, training and assisting the warehouse associates and drivers in the performance of their various duties.
  • Training and overseeing all warehouse personnel in the use of Maximo and Customer Connect inventory systems.
  • Evaluating, editing, updating and generate all outgoing orders from Maximo and Customer Connect submitted by the various end users. Verify inventory levels, revision dates and locations within the inventory systems to ensure enough quantities are available.
  • Managing and maintaining filing system for Maximo/ Customer Connect orders, prenumbered items, and packing slips. Assist internal and external customer with delivery resolution.
  • Assigning, updating locations, and reviewing revision dates and quantities of commodities in the warehouse. Preform daily inventory review on commodities received versus the packing slip quantities.
  • Maintaining records for auditing purposes for all issuance of controlled inventory such as vehicle plates, titles and prenumbered registration stickers.
  • Vehicle vendor returns on vehicle plates, stickers and forms.
  • Obtaining signed receipts for materials shipped via the third-party vendor, FedEx, by using the online verification service. Updates the FedEx system with all address corrections to save money on future deliveries.
  • Using the Customer Connect and Maximo systems to reintroduce returned unused inventory to control costs.
  • Coordinating with other state agencies to pickup and delivery non-warehouse materials.
  • Providing warehouse overview of equipment operations to create a safe work environment.
  • Adhering to the enforcement of warehouse security controls

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five (5) years of supervisory experience in a warehouse involving the receipt and issue of a large volume of supplies, material and equipment, two (2) years of which must have been at the Assistant Supervisor level or equivalent.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined in the Minimum Qualifications on a year-for-years basis for the required experience.

1. Employees in this classification are assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees will be required to possess a Class C motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
