David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a highly skilled Utah based Transit Engineering Discipline Leader , your responsibilities will be diverse and will include working with our transit and rail team, in Utah, and across markets to provide engineering leadership for rail and passenger rail transit and BRT. This includes both project leadership and delivery, as well as business development and pursuits across DEA's markets. We will look to you to help build and enhance our skills, capabilities, and transit backlog.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Performing work which involves major project design for rail transit and BRT
  • Directly managing tasks and projects (as a Task or Project Manager), including scoping, budgeting, contract negotiations and project execution
  • Working in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment with responsibility for internal and external client deliverables and schedules, as well as support for proposal and sales efforts
  • Serving as a project pursuit champion, when applicable, particularly in regard to light rail, commuter rail, and bus rapid transit (BRT) pursuits
  • Working with the Transit and Rail Practice Leader, Business Development, and Marketing leaders in the Utah and Mountain West regions and elsewhere within DEA to initiate, identify and support project pursuits, and assist in project execution
  • Lead and / or assist with recruitment and retention efforts that affect the transit and rail team Emphasize excellence in project execution for on-time and on-budget deliverables of quality that meet or exceed the industry's standard of care
  • Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including project accounting (set up, budgeting, etc.), contracting, and quality requirements.
