Role Summary

Cloudflare is seeking a dynamic and strategic Sr. Director of Technical Enablement to lead global enablement across both Pre-Sales (Solutions Engineering) and Post-Sales (Professional Services, Customer Support, and Success) technical teams. This role will drive readiness across the full customer lifecycle, ensuring technical field teams are equipped to deliver value, differentiate our platform, and accelerate customer outcomes. You'll lead a global team of enablement architects, lab specialists, and regional leads, working closely with field leadership to scale impactful, role-specific learning programs. This is a highly cross-functional, high-visibility role that blends strategic thinking with operational leadership.


Role Responsibilities

Enablement Strategy & Execution



  • Own and evolve the global technical enablement strategy for Pre-Sales and Post-Sales teams.

  • Align enablement programs to GTM goals, product priorities, and the customer journey.

  • Oversee onboarding, role-based learning paths, skills development, and technical field readiness initiatives.



Stakeholder & Executive Partnership



  • Act as the senior enablement partner to global SE and PS leadership.

  • Support the Post-Sales Enablement Leader responsible for Customer Success and Support.

  • Participate in strategic planning and QBRs to embed enablement into business rhythms.

  • Influence and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Enablement Ops leaders.



Managed Labs & Technical Simulations



  • Lead the growth and direction of Cloudflare's Managed Labs program, enabling technical teams to engage in hands-on product learning.

  • Ensure labs align with field priorities across core Cloudflare service areas (Application, Security, Developer, Network).



Team Leadership & Organizational Design



  • Manage and coach a global team including enablement leads, architects, lab engineers, and post-sales enablement professionals.

  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and execution within a distributed team structure.



Metrics & Business Impact



  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure program effectiveness (e.g., ramp time, lab usage, adoption, ROI).

  • Continuously improve programs based on feedback, readiness metrics, and business outcomes.



Role Requirements (Must-Have Skills)

  • 12+ years of experience in technical enablement, solutions engineering, professional services, or GTM strategy in a B2B SaaS environment.

  • Proven leadership of global teams spanning multiple technical domains.

  • Strong executive presence and ability to align with senior GTM leadership.

  • Experience building and scaling hands-on labs or simulations as part of enablement.

  • Deep understanding of technical field roles (SEs, PS, Support, CSMs) and their role in driving customer value.

  • Excellent communication, program design, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong business acumen; able to translate GTM strategy into learning impact.

  • Operational expertise in resource planning, delivery excellence, and escalation management.



Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with Cloudflare's platform, including Application Services, ZTNA/SASE, Networking, and Developer tools.

  • Experience leading enablement in a fast-paced, matrixed, high-growth environment.

  • Background spanning both Pre-Sales and Post-Sales enablement.

  • Proficiency with LMS platforms, lab environments, Salesforce, Confluence, and Google Workspace.
