A Brief Overview
This role manages complex services and advanced clinical operations for a program involved in the care of patients with genetic or genetically predisposed diagnoses and is responsible for short and long-term operational goals / objectives both clinical and operational.

Clinical Duties: Clinical Reviews patient information, evaluates family history, conducts risk assessment, and recommends medical or genetic testing based on analysis. Provides crisis intervention and psychosocial counseling as necessary. Works directly with the Attending Physician assigned to the patient population. Incident-to Follow Up visits for established patients to the practice to assist with returning test results, updating medical and family histories, reviewing testing options, and evaluating familial recurrence risks.

What you will do

  • Serves as clinical and administrative leader within their section. Functions as liaison between section staff and ancillary and support departments throughout the network.
  • The position will oversee counselors and other support staff to ensure appropriate clinical flow (scheduling, registration, and insurance authorizations).
  • Provide Genetic Counseling services to patients
  • Leads family, team members and other caregivers and coordinates all facets of patient care planning with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Evaluates patient care outcomes, communicates changes to physicians, family and other team members and contributes to necessary system changes.
  • Utilizes patient satisfaction data, QI data, incident report data and other forms of feedback to improve care

Education Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Genetic Counseling - Required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least seven (7) years Genetic counseling - Required
  • At least four (4) years Management - Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability in genetic counseling skills, techniques and other related areas. (Required proficiency)
  • Subject to pressure related emergency clinical problems.
  • Must have a high degree of flexibility of skills and hours.
  • Prior experience with clinical data or research data is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed Genetics Counselor - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required
  • Certified Genetics Counselor - American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) - upon hire - Required

SALARY RANGE:

$115,060.00 - $152,450.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
