This position instructs Computer Science courses with an emphasis on the programming, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in college level courses. Employs interactive and innovative instructional techniques to reach students with different learning styles. Instructs students from different cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, academic, and disability backgrounds. Interacts with students outside of class in areas such as: student support hours, tutoring, mentoring, honors projects, undergraduate research, and campus life. Engages in department, campus, and district wide service and in professional development. Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications For academic disciplines, a graduate degree is required. A faculty may qualify with any of the following: Master's degree or higher in the teaching field OR Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching field Desired Qualifications A. Teaching experience in Computer Science courses at the community college level B. Professional experience in the Computer Science industry, with current knowledge of tools, technologies, and practices C. Demonstrated use of interactive and innovative teaching strategies to engage students with diverse learning styles D. Participation in curriculum development, college governance, or academic committees E. Demonstrated use of interactive and innovative teaching strategies to engage students with diverse learning styles F. Commitment to supporting student success through professional development, industry engagement, or career mentoring G. Cybersecurity experience a bonus Special Working Conditions
