POSITION OVERVIEW
This entry level Tax Accountant, will perform a variety of tax assignments and other duties. The Tax Accountant is accountable for: completing assignments pertaining to all areas of responsibility of the Tax Department, including income tax provisions and related SEC footnote disclosures and federal, state and local income tax return filings. The range of tax work is varied as the Company relies on its in-house Tax Department to satisfy a broad range of Company tax responsibilities. Due to the size of the Tax Department, the Tax Accountant may be required to assist with various tasks and will have the opportunity to learn various company procedures and participate in other projects.
The Tax Accountant is expected to complete assignments where attention to detail is critical; excellent judgment and discretion are reflected in work product, recommendations, and decisions are made; and strong analytical and communication skills are demonstrated.

JOB FUNCTIONS
* Preparation and support for the following responsibilities:
o federal, state and local income tax return filings
o estimated tax payment computations
o tax projections
o regulatory agency filings
o utility-plant tax computations
o information return filings
o property tax filings
o transaction tax filings
* Performs federal, state and local tax research in support of compliance and planning
* Prepares tax-related correspondence
* Performs other duties as assigned

Key Performance Indicators:
* Timely and efficient completion of accurate work product, supported by well-organized documentation adhering to Company and Tax Department policies and procedures
* Effective coordination with the Tax Department and Accounting & Finance personnel and other individuals within the Company, both as customers of tax services and providers of information to enable the Tax Department to deliver its services

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Tax, Accounting or closely related discipline
* 1-3 years of relevant experience
* This is an entry level position for a candidate with a strong interest in tax and accounting
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications; advanced Excel skills preferred
* Excellent writing and verbal skills

* Proficiently uses technology and re-evaluates processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and appropriate level of documentation through the skilled application of technology tools
* Willing to consider and adopt new approaches in a positive manner including those that modify or supersede approaches that are well-entrenched

May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening for extended periods of time.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
