Work Schedule
Attend practice and meets as well as help with the recruiting process. Practice times can vary, nights and weekends are a must.
Basic Function
Manages, develops, and leads women's water polo team. Complies with University, conference, and NCAA regulations. Plans all aspects of the program including travel logistics, contest scheduling, budget management, recruitment, and prepares the team for competition through practice and conditioning sessions. Creates and maintains a positive and inclusive team culture focused on student athlete development and program growth.
Essential Job Functions
Plan, lead and manage all phases of the intercollegiate women's water polo program.

Ensure the women's water polo program operates in a safe and an appropriate manner according to university, conference and NCAA regulations.

Make team selections, prepare the team for meets through practice and conditioning sessions, coach contests, prepare athletic facilities for practices and meets, and develop and apply team rules.

Organizes, prepares, and conducts individual and team practices, training, and competition. Implements and supervises strength and conditioning workouts, as necessary.

Recruits and identifies academically qualified and highly skilled student-athletes.
Oversees daily operations including schedules competitions, manages events, plans team travel, organizes practice, and manages budget.

Secondary assignment will be determined according to candidate's background and strengths

Mentors student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of college participation experience.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license and must be insurable under Denison's liability insurance policy.
  • Current certification in first aid, CPR and AED prior to coaching.
  • Sound knowledge of diving with successful experience in coaching diving.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
* Successful experience in coaching water polo on the college level.
* Successful and proven experience in recruiting and retaining student athletes.
* Demonstrate an understanding of NCAA Division III regulations regarding intercollegiate
water polo
* One year of significant and demonstrable experience
Physical Demands
