As a Platform Developer - Storage & System Hardware, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and supporting the next generation of scalable, resilient storage infrastructure.

Job Requirements, but not limited to:
  • Build and maintain tools to supervise and support sophisticated storage systems like PFS, ZFS, and XFS.
  • Solve and resolve performance, reliability, and configuration issues in large-scale environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize system integration and efficiency.
  • Deploy and customize both in-house and commercial storage solutions (e.g., Lustre).
  • Participate in system bring-up, validation, and performance tuning of hardware-aware software stacks.
  • Chip in to automation frameworks and internal documentation for diagnostics and reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, with scripting experience in Python or Bash.
  • Deep understanding of Linux systems programming and kernel-level debugging.
  • Hands-on experience with file systems like PFS, ZFS, and XFS.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus exporters) and benchmarking utilities (e.g., fio, dd).
  • A genuine curiosity about computer hardware-memory hierarchies, NVMe, compression cards, and more.
Bonus Points For:
  • Experience with distributed computing environments and HPC clusters.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Singularity) and cloud-based storage architectures.
  • Familiarity with parallel programming (MPI, SLURM, OpenMP, UCX)

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years

Base Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $136,000.00 Annually Primary Location: USA-MI-Ann Arbor-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.

Interns are eligible for some of the benefits listed. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Actual pay depends on several factors, including state minimum pay wage rates, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education level or training.
