General Summary of Position MedStar Washington Hospital Center - Washington, D.C. Are you passionate about advancing heart failure care and supporting patients through life-saving technology? MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Coordinator to join our nationally recognized cardiovascular program. In this vital role, you will coordinate and manage all aspects of our VAD program, including both FDA-approved and investigational devices. You'll play a central part in clinical operations, patient education, regulatory compliance, and research, while collaborating closely with physicians, clinical teams, and industry partners. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the daily operations of the VAD program, ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance. * Serve as a clinical expert and resource on all durable VADs, providing inpatient and outpatient support. * Participate in and support clinical trials, including data collection, IRB submissions, and audit readiness. * Provide 24/7 on-call support for VAD patients and staff. * Lead and contribute to staff training, education, and patient/family teaching programs. * Coordinate and track device inventory and collaborate on quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Nursing (RN license in DC required) or Engineering. * Minimum of 3 years' experience of progressive clinical experience in a tertiary care setting. * Prior experience with heart failure and VADs preferred. * CPR certification * VAD certification preferred within 18 months.
