The Configuration & Release Manager is responsible for the overall direction, management, and coordination of Availity's CI/CD deployment automation. This role will work with other Configuration & Release Managers to apply agile sprint methodology in the planning and day-to-day support coordination of the Configuration & Release Management for the organization. Sponsorship, in any form, is not available for this position. Location: Remote, US Role qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in managing and coordinating software releases. Experience with building relationships with people at a variety of organizational levels a plus.
- 5 years of relevant technical and business experience in software development in a regulated technology (internet) environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies and applied use of automation to accelerate pace of software delivery without a sacrifice in quality
- Working knowledge of common build and deployment tools, such as:
- Source Control Management - GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.
- Build and CI/CD Deployment - Jenkins, GitLab, Octopus Deploy, etc.
- Artifact Management - Artifactory or similar
- Code quality and security pipeline integrations - Sonarqube, Veracode, etc.
- Change management and issue tracking - Jira or similar
- Strong understanding of deployment automation best practices in support of containerized microservices and nTier applications in a hybrid on-prem and cloud (AWS preferred) environment
- Ability to launch and deliver multiple, concurrent IT projects on time and within budget
- Strong relationship management and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal guidance
- Ability to establish and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external clients/vendors
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions
- Ability to work under pressure. Maintains composure and professionalism in an interrupt-driven environment. Must be able to multi-task.

- Understanding of web development methodologies, application design, navigation, and information architecture

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the health care/payer insurance industry specifically claims processing systems, provider office operations, and customer service processes in a health care company
- Knowledge of AI and its application to software development and release management
What you will be doing:
- Publish and communicate release deployment schedules
- Communicate internally and externally about releases and release dates
- Coordinate software deployments
- Review change tickets for completeness and correctness
- Document release deployment policies, working with Compliance to ensure that policies adhere to internal rules, contracts, regulations, and certifications
- Communicate deployment policies as they change and evolve
- Take and incorporate feedback into release policies
- Work closely with Development, Security, Operations, Infrastructure, Quality Engineering, and Build & Release Engineering to ensure releases are communicated and conducted safely and that they adhere to policies
- Field and answer audit requests to ensure we meet all audit requirements with respect to releases and deployments
- Anticipate and analyze trends in technology regarding release and deployment processes, and strive to incorporate best practices as the industry evolves
- Push back on release or deployment requests that do not conform to published release schedules
- Look for ways to improve release processes through automation, AI, or other means
