We are looking for a mid-level derivatives lawyer or documentation specialist to join our commodities and global markets legal team in New York. In this role, you will be given the unique opportunity to assist with growing our revenue generating derivatives businesses in the US. Your deep and specialized knowledge of derivatives documentation and international derivatives regulations will be instrumental to driving new business opportunities forward and helping to chart the next steps in business development.

What role will you play?

In this position, you will be drafting, reviewing and negotiating derivatives legal documentation including ISDA master agreements, repo documentation and stock lending documentation. You will have the opportunity to provide support and broaden your derivatives skillset across FX, Equities, Commodities and Fixed Income asset classes. You will also be advising the business and liaising with various internal departments on derivatives regulations such as Dodd Frank and instructing external counsel in a variety of jurisdictions.
Salary range for this position: $130,000 - $260,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. What you offer

  • 5+ years of experience at a top tier law firm or financial services firm supporting a front office derivatives business with derivatives documentation and regulatory advice
  • Knowledge in the taking of security interests in a wide variety of jurisdictions and drafting/reviewing associated documentation
  • Experience in reviewing legal opinions, netting opinions and collateral opinions and remaining up to date with existing and upcoming regulations
  • Document management and internal systems process experience
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail are important for the role.
NY bar admission preferred but not mandatory.
