Operations Manager (Assistant Site Manager)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000 Annually, dependent on experience

Tessera is seeking a technical and empowered Operations and Maintenance Manager with a positive attitude. The O&M Manager is responsible for management of all site business areas and organizational activities, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading and directing personnel to accomplish the site goals, objectives, and mission requirements.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervises all first line supervisors and employees to ensure all Tessera policies, procedures, and standards are met and understood for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Serves as Assistant Site Manager.
  • Performs Site Manager duties when primary Site Manager is unavailable or when delegated. Duties include; oversight of Tessera and subcontractor workforce in performance of engineering, installation management, emergency management, and information technology functions.
  • Ensures employees are adequately trained to complete jobs in a safe manner; Leads, trains, develops, and supervises sections to complete scheduled work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintains exceptional relationships with customers, contract officials, and contracting officers representing customers.
  • Audits and responds to customer comments and complaints to ensure quality issues are corrected within contract and Tessera policies and procedures.
  • Continuously monitors existing methods of operations and document control to ensure efficiency of operations, and seeks out opportunities to improve operations.
  • Ensures documentation of employee performance, maintenance of Ability One program requirements and completion of annual evaluations and disciplinary corrective actions in accordance with Tessera Policies, Customer Contracts, and State and Federal Laws.
  • Maintains Tessera's core values for humanitarianism and employment of people with disabilities.
  • Monitors and ensures top quality and safety of work performance.
  • Overseas preparation of work schedules.
  • Prepares deliverables and other required reports.
  • Adheres to security, quality, and performance standards specified in the contract/customer requirements.
  • Coordinates with senior customer contacts and other contractors in performance of work.
  • Authorizes IJO (Individual Job Orders) and subcontracts to the limits set by Tessera policies.
  • Maintains a neat, professional appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Conducts travel to other sites as required
  • Other duties include: Equipment and supply ordering and control, coordination of vehicle purchases and assignments, planning and execution of shop improvements, approval of tool and Supply purchases, and management of contract changes and updates.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Vast knowledge of project management, risk management, accountability and following up on multiple issues.
  • Be willing to develop and implement program and project plans with the ability to successfully operate and navigate contract requirements.
  • This position requires proven leadership skills.
  • Must have proven experience leading/managing facility operations and maintenance activities at the installation level within a Base Civil Engineer Squadron or equivalent.
  • 5-8 Years experience required.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
