Reporting to the Sr. Director of Growth and Strategic Planning and partnering closely with teams across the firm, this role will lead the development and implementation of internal systems that improve how the company qualifies, tracks, and advances business opportunities and sales metrics.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record building the operational backbone of BD - from pipeline management and capture tracking to revenue forecasting and pricing strategy support. This role will focus on enabling Versar's capture and proposal teams to work more effectively, while supporting senior leadership with accurate data, clear processes, and scalable tools.

What You'll Do:

Pipeline Management & Forecasting

  • Maintain and refine the company-wide opportunity pipeline across key market sectors (DoD, DHS, EPA, DOE), ensuring entries are complete, stage-appropriate, and regularly updated
  • Lead quarterly pipeline scrub sessions, working with Capture Managers and Delivery Leads to validate opportunity status, stage, and P(win)
  • Oversee maintenance of forecasting dashboards and reports, including integration with POINT and PAGE tools to support executive visibility into bookings and revenue potential
  • Collaborate with finance and delivery teams to align opportunity forecasts with staffing capacity and budget planning

Capture Process & Governance

  • Develop and maintain a three-stage gate review process (Gate 1-3), tailored to Versar's scale and structure
  • Support Capture Managers in building and submitting capture plans that outline client intel, teaming, key personnel, and pricing posture
  • Track proposal readiness across high-priority pursuits and identify at-risk bids or resource misalignment
  • Coordinate pre-proposal reviews with BD leadership and delivery stakeholders to surface issues early

Price-to-Win & Competitive Analysis

  • Support Capture and Pricing Leads in establishing price-to-win ranges and modeling cost/performance tradeoffs
  • Build and maintain reusable PtW worksheets and competitor benchmarking tools for high-value pursuits
  • Facilitate integration of PtW competitive intelligence and logic into teaming decisions, staffing models, and proposal narratives

BD Systems, Templates & Tools

  • Administer and improve the CRM or pipeline tracking system (Airtable, Salesforce, or similar), ensuring proper use and data hygiene
  • Own development of BD templates and artifacts, including capture plans, gate review decks, staffing trackers, and win/loss trackers
  • Maintain BD document repository and coordinate with proposal teams to ensure alignment with SOPs and document standards
  • Support rollout of BD workflows across platforms like Asana, SharePoint, and Teams

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the operational lead for capture coordination, ensuring delivery, pricing, and proposal teams are aligned on pursuit timelines, resource needs, and solution ownership
  • Partner with the Sr. Director and growth leaders to track progress against BD maturity goals, reporting on KPIs such as capture coverage, pipeline velocity, and gate review adoption
  • Provide regular briefings to leadership on pipeline health, upcoming bids, and BD system usage

What You'll Bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in business development, capture strategy, or revenue operations, ideally within the federal contracting sector
  • Demonstrated success improving or implementing BD systems, pipeline reviews, and opportunity tracking frameworks
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement environments (FFP, IDIQs, task orders, CPFF) and the capture lifecycle
  • Familiarity with PtW methodology, pricing coordination, and cross-functional solutioning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to build trust and alignment across BD, delivery, and executive teams
  • Proficient with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Airtable), Excel, and collaboration/project tools (Asana, SharePoint, Power BI)
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
