RSM is seeking an experienced IT Audit Director to temporarily support our Global Banks Practice. This leadership role will oversee internal audit engagements for a large global banking client, manage complex audit portfolios, and interact with executive-level stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep Third Line of Defense experience, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to deliver regulator-ready audit outcomes within the global banking sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for complex IT audit engagements.
  • Direct audit planning, scoping, execution, and reporting activities across multiple concurrent audits
  • Manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams of Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates.
  • Advise on IT risk management and regulatory compliance across SOX, FFIEC, COBIT, OCC, and FRB frameworks.
  • Serve as a key liaison with senior executives, technology leadership, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Ensure audit programs meet internal quality standards and align with regulatory expectations.
  • Review and challenge issue validation and remediation plans at the enterprise level
  • Present audit results and risk insights to executive committees and governance forums

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT Audit, Internal Audit, or Technology Risk experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in the Third Line of Defense (internal audit), including enterprise-level oversight
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. federal banking regulations (e.g., OCC, FRB, FFIEC)
  • Experience managing large-scale audit portfolios within global banks or Big 4/advisory environments
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable, regulator-ready audit results in high-stakes environments

Preferred Certifications

  • CISA
  • CRISC
  • CISSP
  • CIA
  • CPA

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
