Summary of Job Duties:The Department of Audiology & Speech Pathology is seeking a part-time Student Research Assistant to support an NIH-funded research project in Dr. Kristen Muller's lab. This project explores the use of eye-tracking technology to evaluate word understanding in autistic children who are non-speaking or minimally verbal.

This is a unique opportunity for students interested in autism research, language development, and innovative assessment methods. The role will provide hands-on experience in data collection, eye-tracking procedures, and research operations within a collaborative academic setting. Qualifications:
  • Must be a current student at UAMS

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Sciences, Psychology, Biological Sciences, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant work, research, or clinical experience, particularly in areas related to autism, language development, or child behavior

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Complete training modules for eye-tracking hardware and software
  • Help administer behavioral, cognitive, and language assessments to autisticchildren
  • Assist with community advisory board meetings
  • Assist with data collection and data entry
  • Collaborate with research team members
  • Prepare materials to utilize during eye-tracking assessments
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Work 10 hours a week
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the project

Salary Information:
