Principal Food Service Worker

Description In this role, you will work across all assigned tray assembly stations and ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, presenting menus to patients and assisting with meal selections as needed, and distributing meals according to the diet master list. You will also collect trays after meal service, transport food carts, and deliver snacks to patients. Maintaining proper sanitation procedures and supporting tray service operations are essential. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service, including tray assembly or general food preparation
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Able to identify food items and match them with menu selections accurately
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based tray assembly environment
• Basic math skills; able to perform calculations without a calculator
• General understanding of dietary restrictions and food service for various diets
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, medical staff, supervisors, and management
• Ability to comply with department dress code and appearance standards
• Physically able to stand for extended periods, stretch, bend, walk, push, lift, and reach repeatedl
• Able to lift and push heavy food service carts as required
• Willingness to attend and participate in departmental training session
