Full-time Description
TRISTAR is seeking a Network Administrator to provide critical support for maintaining and improving a highly specialized and secure network environment. This role is essential for ensuring the continuity of operations, resolving technical issues, and evolving network infrastructure in coordination with an established Network Team. Troubleshoot technical, network, power, latency, and operational issues across a multi-platform environment. Maintain and support systems running Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022, Cisco software over Linux, and Hyper-V virtual environments. Participate in network strategy sessions, propose and document major changes, and integrate new network equipment and software. Perform software lifecycle management: upgrades, security patch evaluations, and critical issue resolution. Develop and maintain technical documentation, IP schemas, and logical topology diagrams. Accurately represent logical firewall boundaries and device configurations within the network. Support design updates and documentation for internal review boards and system accreditation. Evaluate network security and recommend improvements. Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and Layer 3 switching. Automate tasks using PowerShell and work with terminal tools like PuTTY and Tera Term. Support backup and disaster recovery planning and execution. Requirements
5+ years of experience in network troubleshooting and support ticketing 2+ years of experience developing, formatting, or distributing technical documentation 2+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco equipment (usage, training, or administration) 1+ year of experience administering VMware environments CompTIA Security+ CE or Cisco CCNA certification Active Secret Clearance Experience with network cabling standards and best practices Knowledge of network segmentation via firewall, VPN, and VLAN Foundational understanding of IPv4 routing, access control lists, and subnetting VMware platforms and virtualization technologies Active Directory and Group Policy Management Red Hat Linux 8 GitLab or similar ticketing/workflow systems Server-based features such as Certificate Authority |
