Business Development Representative

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to help drive new customer acquisition across North America. As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients, responsible for building relationships, identifying opportunities, and qualifying leads that align with our market-leading solutions. The long-term career path will lead to becoming a Sales Director or Account Manager within Element.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and engage potential customers through outbound outreach (calls, emails, social media, etc.) and inbound lead qualification.

  • Conduct discovery calls to understand fleet needs, pain points, and decision-making processes.

  • Schedule product demos and consultations for the sales team with qualified leads.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align messaging with customer segments and industry trends.

  • Maintain and manage accurate data and outreach activity in the CRM system.

  • Stay current on industry regulations, competitive offerings, and evolving customer needs across both U.S. and Canadian markets.

  • Consistently meet or exceed KPIs related to lead generation, conversion, and pipeline contribution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally in SaaS, transportation, logistics, or telematics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly.

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).

  • Self-starter with a powerful sense of ownership, organization, and accountability.

  • Familiarity with the fleet industry, compliance requirements (e.g., ELD regulations), and regional nuances across the U.S. and Canada is highly advantageous.

  • Bilingual in English and French is a plus, especially for Canadian market engagement.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000-$71,500 USD annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location
