The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an enthusiastic team player to join us as Motor Vehicle Call Center Agent! This position will:
This position will help you develop your skills in customer service, administration, and data management while working under the guidance of a dedicated Unit Supervisor who supports your growth. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor, excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, and a commitment to providing top-notch service to our community. Although the full salary range for this position is provided, new hires are typically made at the salary range minimum. Who May Apply
This position, Motor Vehicle Call Center Agent I (Job Requisition #52924), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Please note that multiple positions in the same work location may be filled from this job posting. In accordance with Title 23, Section 102(d), an applicant must agree to be finger-printed and pass a background investigation to be eligible for this position. The background investigation may include criminal, financial and traffic records checks. Hiring managers will notify applicants who are in the final stage of the interview process of the finger-printing and background check requirement, to which an applicant must agree to be deemed eligible for this position. Applicants will have the right to withdraw their applications before finger-printing and/or a background investigation is conducted. Environmental Factors
Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye/social media, from written, electronic and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant contact from verbal abuse stress induced illness is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to work faster with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required. Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of office administrative experience, that included significant public contact. Preferred Qualifications
