TekSystems is currently hiring for a Medical Financial Counselor in the Baltimore area! MUST HAVE: MUST come from inpatient/hospital financial counselor/verification background* to be considered. Insurance verification/authorization experience is required! * Description Verifies patient health insurance coverage and obtains authorization for Inpatient hospital admissions as well as STP, Day Feeding and Community Rehab programs Estimates deposit requirements and communicates with patient/family re: estimated patient financial liability Tracks 3808 authorization and billing process, coordinates the long-term care application process Verifies all Medicaid patient's eligibility daily Performs registration function for Inpatient admissions in EPIC Obtains patient consents for Inpatient admission Additional Skills & Qualifications Must have high school diploma or higher Ideal candidate will have 3+ years working within a Financial Counselor or financial clearance role Must come from an in-patient/Hospital side Need to be familiar with the portals used Medicaid bkgd is a PLUS EPIC exp is a PLUS Must have strong computer/communication skills-- will be using word, outlook, basic excel daily Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
