ARFF Training & Safety Specialist - Rhode Island Remote

IEM is looking for a Part Time - ARFF Training & Safety Specialist to work with our Air, Transportation and Logistics Team to promote expertise in airport emergency response, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.

Primary Location:



  • Live in any area that meets remote work in the United States.
  • Work remotely from home or personal office location with traveling/deployment.



Travel Requirements:



  • This position will require some work to be conducted at a client site and/or other locations.
  • Travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations, DoD regulations, or state-specific requirements.



Essential Functions:



  • Assessing and improving ARFF operations to ensure compliance and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 139 regulations.
  • Developing training programs for airport firefighters and emergency responders.
  • Conducting safety audits and risk assessments for airside operations.
  • Advising on fire suppression systems and emergency preparedness strategies
  • Assisting with airport security and environmental regulations related to fire hazards
  • Providing guidance on ARFF equipment, procurement and maintenance.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Experience: Ten (10) years of specialized experience in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting operations, including graduation from a basic Fire Protection Specialist course of the military or equivalent civilian crash-fire-rescue training.
  • Ten (10) years of leadership experience at the role of Station Chief equivalent or higher.
  • Three (3) years as lead instructor for Firefighter I & II, Fire Apparatus, Inspections, ARFF or Fire Instructor certification courses.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in planning and training Triennial Exercises experience is highly preferred.



Additional Information:



  • Hourly Pay: $55.00
  • Remote Locations: All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purpose of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
