The Engineering Audit Bureau is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Auditor to join our team under the supervision of the Director of Contract Audit. This position is primarily responsible for conducting audits of Time and Material (T&M) construction contracts and related change order payments, with a focus on ensuring financial compliance, cost allowability, and adherence to contractual terms and conditions. The role requires a strong background in construction auditing, particularly in reviewing and evaluating labor charges, equipment usage, material consumption, and other construction-related services. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in: advanced accounting, auditing, and cost accounting; and one of the following: Preferred Skills
-Solid understanding of construction cost structures, project controls, and contract terms. -Strong analytical skills with proficiency in evaluating complex financial data and billing documentation. -Familiarity with local regulations (e.g., MURK, PPB Rules, NYC Comptroller Directives) -Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations. -Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments simultaneously. 55a Program
