Verizon Business Digital seeks a Principal Engineer - Software Development to spearhead the design and development of critical projects. This role involves continuous improvement of our digital experience through friction removal and optimization, implementation of prompt-based and conversational buying/self-service flows, expansion of real-time offer recommendations across all customer touchpoints, and driving online/mobile traffic with guaranteed best value.

You will be responsible for
designing & developing the application which takes care of the sales & service flows on verizon.com/business and MyVerizon Business App.

  • Leading a group of motivated individuals driving platform modernization towards a comprehensive north star architecture stack top to bottom (UI/UX, middleware & backend), reimagining customer experience, and infusing Artificial Intelligence, into customer interactions.

  • Helping architect and developing a streamlined app experience incorporating prompt based & conversational AI to create end-to-end customer journeys, delivering personalized recommendations with optimal offers and promotions.

  • Collaborating with Digital Experience and Technology teams (onshore & offshore) is crucial for managing the technical design and development lifecycle, ensuring precise execution and enhanced customer experiences across all sales & service touchpoints.

  • Following the Agile methodology to gather information from stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and subject matter experts to analyze business needs and understand the requirements to support the design, development, and testing of various digital projects to simplify customer experience.

What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience with technologies like Java, J2EE, React, Spring Cloud, Spring Boot and Microservices.

  • Experience with architecting large scale enterprise applications.

  • Experience in JavaScript frameworks (Node.JS, Next.JS, Angular, etc.) and cross-browser implementations.

  • Experience in Web UI framework and development which includes Usability, Page transition, page navigation, image caching, lazy page loading.

  • Experience with implementing AI Models into customer experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.

  • Experience with Large Scale Distributed Systems development.

  • Experience with offshore development teams.

  • Experience with Client stake-holdering and regular updates to Senior Leadership.

  • IT experience networking, applications, infrastructure, or database architectures.

  • Experience with innovative application of data- and metric-driven performance management to lower cost and drive efficiency.

  • Experience with Cloud and Container platform Strategies, Design, Architecture and Migration and AEM.

  • Experience developing applications and API frameworks to enable large-scale efficiencies.

  • Experience with leading complex projects by bringing together the right perspectives, identifying roadblocks, and integrating feedback from clients and team members.

  • Experience in building and maintaining experiences like preconfigured cart and offline order processing.

  • Experience in Elasticsearch including indexes, shards, replicas and experience with data ingestion frameworks such as Logstash to efficiently index data into Elasticsearch.

  • Experience in optimizing application performance including load balancing, caching strategies and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and fast response times.

  • Experience building and driving adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns.

  • Experience with leading and participating in performance tests identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands for product launches.

  • Knowledge of IT strategic planning, technological trends of B2B systems.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $120,500.00 - $231,000.00.
