Responsibilities
The IT Software/Computer Specialist is an entry level position that will workonsite at customer locations or remotely to field, upgrade, and troubleshoot government software hardware for various customers in the United States and designated overseas locations.
- Configure and install government software modules onto customer owneddevicesto support individual customer requirements
- Test to ensure government software modules function as intended according to configurations
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and report discrepancies identified with government owned software
- Ability to train the functions of software to customers of varying technical ability
- Ability to write detailed reports of work performedon a weekly basis
Qualifications
- Security + required
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
- Up to 3 years of related experience or College Courses
Required Skills
- Ability to communicate technical computer information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Must be compliant within 6 months with Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoDD 8570) Certification IAT Level II
- Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG) is desired
- Ability to troubleshoot, research, and resolve issues
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- *Experience with Satellite Communication (SATCOM) and networking is a plus
- Must be able to travel up to 50%; with potential for short notice trips and extended length (2 weeks +)
