The Senior Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading a team of Sourcing Engineers within Molex for Direct procurement of Raw Materials supporting our Transportation Solutions Business Unit (TSBU). This role offers high visibility and is key in supporting Global New Product Development and Launches with a focus on Metals (Strip), Resins and outsourced Categories along with involvement and support of Supplier Relationship Management activities.

What You Will Do in Your Role

* Aligning with Category Management, New Product Development (NPD) Sourcing and Plant demand planning to implement strategies that drive value to the business through:

* NPD Team Management and leading with suppliers providing Metal coils/strip, Resin and seals as well as outsourced raw materials and components

* Lead NPD Team in securing price reductions through leverage creation, negotiations support and implementation of VA/VE activities

* Collaborate with Sourcing Managers across other regions & divisions to support continued improvement and best practices deployment.

* Develop Supply agreements & Improvement of payment terms with suppliers and understanding of Total Landed Cost and related supply chain.

* Develop, deploy, and improve material replenishment plans with focus on VMI/SOI

* Eliminate/ offset price erosions in life cycle cost of program

* Support improvements with regard to workflow and process steps

* Supporting supplier quality for incoming quality and resolution matters

* You will become a valued Member of the Team within the Business Unit and have responsibility and high visibility as Key contributor.

  • Promote Molex's Principal Based Management (PBM) Culture and actively apply the principles and philosophies
  • Collaborate with category team regarding Pricing and Inventory agreements enabling competitive advantage for Molex
  • Support and Develop PLANT value stream mapping and supply base strategy aligned with global procurement strategy and input/alignment from Key Stakeholders
  • Develop & Implement Cost Improvement Opportunities/Eliminate Waste
  • Promote Economic Thinking & analysis in all aspects of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Support, Create, Develop and Improve Inventory Improvement Strategies in PLANT
  • Support Quality Improvement Strategies within PLANT
  • Ensure team engagement & alignment with NPD Sourcing for program flawless launch

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management and/or 8+ years of procurement management experience. OR equivalent work/life progressive experience in related procurement/purchasing roles. Prior management experience preferably in a global setting.

  • SAP or relative MRO/ERP/MRP experience
  • Global procurement experiences in supporting whole product life cycle - new product development processes, mass production till product end of life
  • Total Cost of Ownership Understanding & Analysis - 'Financial thinking'.
  • Fact-Based Negotiation / Financial Cost Modeling / Analysis
  • Product & Category Expertise (Metals, Resins/Seals - Assemblies and Outsourcing)
  • Supplier Analysis / Contract Management / Supplier Relationship Management
  • Internal Stakeholder collaboration / Project Management
