Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Coordinator II, Internships and Career Connections, supports students by coordinating career readiness activities and internship opportunities that complement their academic goals. This position assists with planning and delivering workshops, providing individual career support, and maintaining relationships with faculty, employers, and community partners. The PT Coordinator II helps ensure students are prepared for the job market by providing consistent support for career-related services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Lead engaging workshops on career clusters, equipping students with essential skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, professional networking, and navigating the job market
  2. Provide personalized one-on-one coaching and mentoring to students, assisting with resume tailoring, interview preparation, and building professional networks to enhance their career readiness
  3. Conduct virtual consultations via WebEx to ensure accessibility and flexibility for students, accommodating diverse schedules and needs
  4. Build and nurture strong relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to foster a supportive career development ecosystem
  5. Represent the FIP Program at offsite community events, promoting the program and establishing partnerships to expand internship and career opportunities
  6. Coordinate and manage department calendars and schedules, plan and execute meetings, seminars, and events, including Talen Tuesday career events, preparation, marketing, and development of training materials
  7. Assist with managing the department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support program goals
  8. Take part in or lead special projects as needed, including the development of new career-focused programs or initiatives to enhance student outcomes
  9. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned, with a primary focus on enhancing the student experience through career advising, workshops, and outreach efforts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adept at using online platforms, including WebEx, for virtual engagement
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences, including students, faculty, and community partners
  • Strong organizational skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • Proficient in leveraging social media platforms, such as Instagram and LinkedIn, to promote programs and engage with students and professionals
  • Skilled in delivering presentations in classroom and community settings, with a focus on career development topics
  • Adept at cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable in networking environments, representing the program at community events and building strategic partnerships
  • Knowledge of budget management and resource allocation to support program operations
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend strategic improvements

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $19.69
