Description
All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children's National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children's National support the development of RN relationships within the community, specifically those relationships associated with the health and well-being of the community at large. The Sane Nurse will participate as a member of the sexual abuse/assault response team to provide victims of sexual assault with sensitive, coordinated and appropriate care. The RN will provide the forensic medical exam (per established protocol) in all reported cases of sexual assault/abuse that occurred within a 72 hour period committed in the District of Columbia. Will participate in a 12-hour, 7 day a week on-call schedule and will testify as required when subpoenaed. Qualifications
